Fareham
Client: Tesco Stores Limited
Authority: Fareham Borough
We worked with Michael Aukett Architects, Boreham Consulting Engineers and other expert consultants to secure planning permission for a foodstore of 6,215 sq m on the site of a former foundry in Fareham Town Centre. The store opened in November 2011.
The project brought forward the redevelopment of a large brownfield site on the edge of the town centre, and included associated highway works to improve flows around Quay Street roundabout at the A27 / A32 crossroads, which provides the main point of entry to the Gosport Peninsula.
We co-ordinated the planning application, prepared a Retail Impact Assessment and co-ordinated the Environmental Statement. There were a number of important environmental considerations, as the site is close to a Special Protection Area (SPA), Ramsar site and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
