Walton Green, Felixstowe

We are co-ordinating a team of multi-disciplinary consultants on a mixed-use development project on a 15 hectare site in Felixstowe, Suffolk.  The development will provide up to 200 homes, a foodstore, 17 employment units, 3 live/work units, a community space, allotments and a new road. Part of our role included identifying suitable consultants and obtaining fee proposals to assist the client in appointing the consultant team. 

We prepared a Planning and Retail Assessment which set out the case for large scale housing on a greenfield site ahead of the adoption of the local authority’s Core Stategy, explained the socio-economic benefits of the development, and provided justification for an out-of-centre foodstore.

In our role as EIA co-ordinators, we have liaised with specialist consultants, prepared a Scoping Report, edited all impact assessment chapters of the Environmental Statement, prepared introductory and conclusion chapters and a Non-Technical Summary, and ensured compliance with all EIA Regulations.

The project has involved extensive community engagement, including setting up a website, two public exhibitions, presentations to town and district councillors, meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and local business groups.
